I would not change the Dewey call numbers. I might move them to a special
section and shelve them in number order (even though the Dewey numbers
remain as is) but probably not. The more we change things, the more
confused our students (and faculty) get. The DDC has been around since
1873, pretty sure, and I generally count on the professional catalogers to
do a good job. Yes, I have seen a few mistakes along the way, but with 99
others jobs in our buildings to make ourselves valuable to students and
staff, changing the Dewey number (or E to F) is something that I only do
very occasionally.

42 years as a teacher-librarian, and maybe two more to go, as long as I get
a good night's sleep, that is!
