What shocked me in the NARALO process is that - given a long drawn
out, and presumably costly at their end, design process - when asked
how many they would print ICANN staff responded as few as possible,
suggesting 100 or so would suffice. I would have thought a run of 5000
or so would be in order, just to punt some out to every ALS etc. to
give out at meetings, but they are just thinking Brussels.

Similarly, I would think in our case. I like the idea of doing
something like http://kickstarter.com where everyone pledges until a
sufficient amount is reached - altho I'm not fond of kickstarter's
Amazon payment scheme. If a 501c3 was needed as a fiscal sponsor that
US tax-deductible donations could be be made to I'd think ISOC-NY
would be willing.

1-800-postcards charges ~ $250 for 500 brochures, there would be some
additional shipping.

The least that could be done is to design something that can posted as
a pdf and then printed at will.

Then again, once the charter vote is complete and we know where we are going, that is one of the reasons I finally want to get on track with the fundraising plans I have put off because of the amount of work involved in the charter process.  While it is all well and good to look to ICANn for help, we need need to find a way to fund our own needs, including pamphlets and getting members from developing regions to the meeting so they can participate fully in the ICANN process.
