3. Reasons for willingness to take on the tasks of the particular position;
I see the Internet as an open space wicz gives tremendous ipportunities to individual and non-commercial users and to the imp,ementation of basic human rights as the right to freedom of expression. Thos issues are touched by a lot of uitems under discussion in ICANN and in patricular in the GNSO Councuil. To bring the individual and non-com,mercial users perspective to this discussions is an impiortant element and would be my first priority. Participation in this excersize is also an important move twoards a further ebnhancement of the multistakeholder model as it is envisaged by ICANN under its new AoC. I believe I can help non-commercial Internet users to participate in those policy development processes.

I am invoved in Internet Governance issues since more than 20 years, mainly as an independen academic observer. I am also chairing an ALS (Medienstadt Leipzig e.V., which organizes, inter alia, the Summer School on Internet Governance/SSIG) a which is member of EURALO. Insofar I have full insight into ICANN as an organisation and in its practices and procedures. I understand also very well the broader environment, thanks to my involvement in the World Summit on the Infotrmaiton Society and its follow ep. I was a co-founder and first chair of the CS IGC, a member of the WGIG, a special adviser to the chair of the IGF, a member of the new CSTD IGF Improvement working group. Since 2009 I am also chairing the Council of Europe Cross Broder Internet Expert Group.
