You are absolutely right Carlos, as you may know it's very common in
South America to talk with a grain of irony when things that are
related to politiks start to go against common sense and the public
benefit.

Unfortunately I had to put some priorities in the right order and my
window of available time for ICANN is very limited, and gets mostly
consumed by just reading the incredible amount of text that it
generates, and some occasional sideline comments, some of them ironic.

On top of that and to be totally frank with all of you, I lost the
enthusiasm about participating given that ICANN keeps twisting and
tweaking its original role, mandate and core values to the convenience
of some particular interests, and I'm sick tired of seeing how some
people behave like if they were part of the "Domain Names Cartel"
(yeahh IP addresses are not a big deal, wait until IPv4 space runs out
and folks find they can make some money with that).

I'm not giving up the fight, but it is extremely concerning how an
organization that was created to foster the cooperation among groups
to manage a common resource that is just one of the pieces of a
complex puzzle that is the Internet, is now in a covert fight to
secure control of it, whatever definition you may choose for
"control".

Nuno, it is not just one single and isolated issue, and not related to
a single person, it is the character, morale and culture of an entire
organization, IHMO ICANN is currently doing very poorly in all three
dimensions ...

Sincerely Yours
Jorge
