Dear all,
The Communications Commission of Kenya's draft e-transactions
regulations (out for public comments
http://www.cck.go.ke/html/news.asp?newsid=317&area=new) propose, among
others: -
--snip--
Management of the ccTLD repository and administration of sub domains
in the Kenya country code top level domain
"19. 1) The Commission may, from time to time, issue guidelines for
management of the ccTLD repository and administration of sub domains
in the Kenya country code top level domain."
--snip--
Aware of the .ke namespace history - "IANA Report on Redelegation of
the .ke Top-Level Domain",
http://www.iana.org/reports/2002/ke-report-20dec02.html. And concerned
with recent developments elsewhere, this is to kindly request for
contacts of the IANA person(s) I could communicate with to understand
if, what, or how the above move may impact on redelegation agreement
with KeNIC (for input into the ongoing public consultations
conversation) from Public Interest communication and Expression
perspectives.
Thanks much,
Alex Gakuru
