	Reasons for Willingness to Seek Re-election:
	I believe that I have been an effective councillor for NCSG, and I remain passionate about the issues that NCSG champions within the council, such as privacy of registration, and free expression.
	I believe strongly that good governance, as well as good policy, is essential for the GNSO, and the Council needs to work strongly on its relationships within, and without, ICANN.

	Qualifications for the Role:
	I believe I have made a strong contribution in my first term. I was selected as the Vice-Chair from the Non-Contracted Parties House, indicating not only the confidence of my NCSG colleagues, but also a willingness for the CSG to work with me, and I believe I have carried out that role in a collegial and constructive manner - particularly, using the Vice-Chair role to defend the GNSO policy role against challenges from the GAC, and contributing to meeting organisation and the work of the council. Besides the vice-chair role, I've been active in council debate, and in working groups, particularly the Proxy/Privacy Services Accreditation group, one that I think is vital to ensuring there are real options to defend privacy of registration. I've also been involved in the GAC-GNSO Coordination Group, helping to ensure GNSO working groups continue to be the ICANN policy development bodies for TLDs and aren't undermined by GAC or Board processes.
	Prior to the election as a councillor, I served as NCSGs representative on the Security, Stability and Resiliency Review Team, and was elected to the NCUC Exectutive Committee, and when there was a vacancy, I became the acting Chair of NCUC until a new one could be elected.
	Besides ICANN roles, I am the Chair of Electronic Frontiers Australia, Australia's leading online civil liberties and digital rights organisation, and I've helped run successful campaigns against internet censorship schemes and other threats to the rights of Australians and others. Currently we have active campaigns against data retention legislation, mass surveillance, and restriction of rights via treaties such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement. We are also campaigning for copyright reform, recommending true fair use reforms for Australian law. As Chair, I've encouraged EFA to be more involved in international issues, and to reach out to other digital rights organisations.
	I am studying for a PhD related to Internet governance.
	 Statement of Availability for the Time the Position Requires: my teaching commitments are flexible enough to allow council work, and commitments allow me to find appropriate time for council work. I have an excellent attendance record as a councillor in my first term.
