Hi Ayden,

Thanks for your message and the reminder about one of your answers to
Niel's question, where you were expecting an answer from me. You are
right, i wanted us to have a healthy discussion, in a positive way not
the way many on this list (include myself) understood Niel's follow up
question.

I didn't want to comment or react on your email because i found it
being positive as you were describing yourself and the issues you
believe in. You also confirmed that none of the positions you have
taken in the past were out of NCSG's mission. Something legitimate and
that i would like to commend you for.

I also loved what you shared about your views on different
ICANN-funded programs and I personally did share that view because i
see it being obvious, we don't need to keep on funding programs with
zero impact. Thanks for pointing that as well.

These of your thoughts, in my opinion, didn't answer Niel's question
with regards to what makes you different from other candidates (in my
opinion).

What i was expecting to hear from you was YOU presenting what other
candidates think of let's say, ICANN funded programs. Where do your
views differ from mine for example? Or from other candidates? And
here, you would have started saying something like: Arsene, as a
candidate, thinks this on ICANN-funded programs which is different
from me. And then add the other candidates.

Same for expressed views on this list by other candidates. I was
expecting you to present your situation/positions (as you did) and
then say candidate X has proven to be standing for issues out of
NCSG's values such as XYZ and there you go with other candidates.

So, those were the things i was expecting you to dwell into but i was
glad to note you chose not to because this would have led to unhealthy
debate and what i would have called negative campaigning, something
most of us decided to avoid.

I hope i was able to clearly type the content of my thinking on this
very aspect. And I thank you again for wanting to know more on this.

Best regards,
Arsene
