After this e-mail I was thining a but about this, so I thought: why not
write it down. Perhaps this could help the drafting volunteers:

We very much welcome the Framework of Interpretation for the Human
Rights Bylaw (FoI HR), as well as the opportunity to comment on it. The
FoI HR and the considerations clearly reaffirm that human rights and
fundamental freedoms are universal, indivisible, interrelated,
interdependent and mutually reinforcing.
At the same time the FoI-HR also makes it clear that ICANN should not
expand its mission while respecting human rights, but rather ensure in
its operations and policy development processes that it doesn't
negatively impact human rights.
The FoI-HR also clearly outlines that all Supporting Organizations and
Advisory Committees as well as ICANN the organization should develop
their own methods to ensure that they live up to the Human Rights Core
Value. The reference to the Ruggie Principles can help us learn from
other examples, while creating the fitting approach for the ICANN
environment.

We're greatly looking forward to the adoption of the FoI-HR and the
subsequent activation of the Human Rights Bylaw.

Cheers,

Niels
