Interpreting that "you" as generic, while I only followed that fight
from the side I have heard enough to agree it was bad. But I'm even
more worried about the amount of work involved when the ePDP gets
actually started. *That* will stretch NCSG resources for real.

Exactly. It takes a lot of time to be effective even in a regular PDP,
and ePDP will by all accounts be much worse.

That sounds like a chicken-and-egg problem, but I guess you meant one
can and should be involved and get experience and prove one's
commitment and ability by attending remotely before asking for travel
slots. Which sounds like a good idea to me.

Most of the work is done remotely in any case, and anybody wanting to
work can join the working groups they want. In case of the ePDP,
membership is limited but if you don't fit in, you can still help
NCSG's representatives there by working in the background. If there's
enough interest it might even be worthwhile to set up a mailing list
just for the purpose.
