There are two separate issues here.

One is the ICANN position on the .org price cap. The other is on how
the ICANN Ombudsperson's office characterized the submissions in
response to that ICANN position.

It would be wise to keep the two as separate issues.

While I personally am against removing the .org price cap, I see that
as a separate fight, apart from objecting to the Ombudsperson's
devaluation of email expressions of interest and opinion, as
submitted to ICANN. I also see the price cap removal as a position
where there is disagreement within ICANN.

Also, the issue here is not reforming the Ombudsperson's office, but
making it clear that the Office's position as stated is unacceptable
to the ICANN community, and an insult to the operations of the
Internet ecosystem.

In jest, maybe ICANN should only consider submissions delivered by
corporate jet. That application of resources would attest to depth of
feeling (on the part of those with corporate jets).
