Thanks for you prompt and detailed replies.  I would like to clarify one thing.  The first 6 points I listed were only in the interest of full disclosure so that I not be accused of having a hidden bias.  I do not expect you to agree with those.  I just wanted to be up front about where I am currently on this basic issue.  I am open to persuasion and I find your comments useful.

My goals and objectives with respect to NCUC are the bottom 3 points.  And I have come up with a new campaign slogan :)        "Keep the NCUC Neutral"

(Also, I might note that the quickness with which we can communicate globally on this list does make me wonder some about why it took from my applying for membership online for CP80.org, whom I represent, in San Juan until September 7 to be admitted to the list.  When I wrote to ask the status, I told something about how difficult is was reach the members of the excom for approval or something to that effect.)
