Actually it has - arguably it was just a continuation of the older
ncndhc-discuss, which incidentally was hosted by ICANN.
At least you described it as a move back then.

Also, it hasn't been quite a decade since it was moved,
as it only happened in August 2003. :-)
To wit:

Which I guess goes to prove that there's nothing more permanent
as a temporary solution. :-)

Although it has lousy interface... :-)

Here I must agree, however. The earlier ncndhc-discuss was indeed
hosted by ICANN, and its archives have disappeared from there, as you
can see by trying the link given a message from it I've copied below.
Its archives can still be found in the depths of the Internet, but
it's not entirely trivial - Google won't find them, for example.

Anyway, the new ncuc-discuss list about to be launched soon will be
hosted on an ncuc-owned virtual private server (using Mailman, of
course, to fulfill Milton's promise above) along with other ncuc
lists, which should make them independent of both individual ncuc
leaders as well as of ICANN. (I'm going to copy the archive of
the ncndhc-discuss there as well.)
Let's hope it doesn't prove less permanent solution than the current
"temporary" ncsg-discuss.
