In a slideshow covering the WHOIS Operational Point of
Contact (OPOC) Proposal (presented at today's
Registrar Constituency meeting in Miami), Ross Rader
states:

"Registrars implement best practices for third party
access to data not published in WHOIS//OPOC"

Are our constituency representatives comfortable with
that approach?  Best practices don't necessarily
equate with "due process" that protects privacy
interests.

What it probably means is that registrars are
signalling that OPOC will allow them the latitude to
charge a fee for providing non-published data to
whomever requests it.
