This session is specially for Internet Society members and will focus on
answering key questions that will shape the work of the Rapporteur: what
does the right to privacy mean in the digital age, and is there any
universal definition that works across different cultures?
This is a unique opportunity for your voice to be heard at a global
level. Your opinion will be considered as input for the Special
Rapporteur’s work.

Prof. Cannataci is the first-ever Special Rapporteur on the right to
privacy. To learn more about his work, we recommend reading his first

issued in March 2016. In the document, he maps an ambitious plan for the
next few years.
