From my experience in running conferences we often work closely with the police ahead of time. This is so we are clear on all protocols that need to be followed 'in case'. Certainly the UN always works closely with the police and other relevant security agencies for all major meetings. I do not see Edwards's outreach as damaging. I just feel that we are not making progress here so perhaps we drop the topic. We have so much work and the back and forth will not change the past. There is an ongoing 'change process' these are never easy, some mistakes will be made but hopefully one day we will get to where we want to be which for me would be that meetings would be safe spaces. Please let us move on and other interventions can be off-list.

This may have been in good intentions but goes way way beyond anything that our representatives should be putting them selves into role wise, and personally I also don’t feel that anyone has the right to make themselves an intermediary between a person and the LE of a country, share relevant information and make sure we are all aware and alert but I don’t agree with the path this has gone down.
