we've tried several new and known working GPIB cables, measured the
backplane board for continuity, replaced the internal GPIB cable,
replaced the NI GPIB board and checked all power supplies.
The NI GPIB board as well as the GPIB cables work fine with our ELAN 6000.
After extensive diagnostics, it sadly all boils down to the CPU board as
the 9914BPL doesn't even appear as a listener in the NI GPIB
diagnostics, so it isn't even initialized.
