I was implying the reverse, Horst. Given that you have already written off the DRC board, see if it shows up in the Spy software in the 6000. It might damage the DRC board, but you're no worse off.
If it does show up, then the problem could be with the DRC back pane. Of course that's possibly worse than trying to get a new system controller board.

I've already tried a direct link to the the CPU board.
I've also asked a PE support engineer about swapping CPU boards between the 6000 and the DRC-e and he strongly advised against it, citing different support voltages and changes in the bus structure.
I'm also a bit wary to lose another working ICP-MS by such an experiment.
