Once when I replaced the detector on our PQ2+ I also got no signal as,
coincidentally, a component on the multiplier HV board blew when I powered
it up again. So you might want to check the multiplier voltage, carefully
due to the HV. Another way you could get no counts is to leave one of the
multiplier leads too long so that it is grounded on something.
