As we continue to set up our lab to look at low levels of trace impurities,
the subject of gloves has come up. I checked the archives of Plasmachem and
found only a few articles on the subject. These dealt mostly with Zn and Fe
contamination. What is the groups experience with contamination from gloves
and how big a problem is this for ultra low level contamination? From
looking at the archives, it appears nitrile gloves get the nod for lowest
contamination. Is one brand better then another. Is there a benefit to 100%
nitrile when it comes to contamination? Does the accelerator-free type of
nitrile glove offer any benefits other then reduced skin allergies (which in
itself can be important)?
I also want to thank everyone who responded to my clean room question. Your
help and insight are greatly appreciated.
