Pierre;
We can typically analyze sulfuric acid down to 500 ppt. We dilute the
sulfuric acid 1:10 and have had no problems. We use a HP4500 fitted with a
quartz concentric nebulizer and a cyclonic spraychamber. Your setup should
work fine as long as you have Pt cones as Ni cones will wear out fairly
quickly. In addition, standard addition will not work for those elements
that suffer sulfur interferences such as Ti, Ge, Mo, V, and Cd.

Dear Plasmamembers,
I would like to know if the analysis of trace metals in pure sulfuric acid
is possible by regular technics like icp-ms Elan 6100.I know that addition
standard is the best way to eliminate matrix interference but what is the
best dilution to do whithout problem for cones and nebuliser(I have a
teflon cyclonic chamber whith a miramist neb) and what element at trace
ppb level are not possible
in normal environnement lab.
