Addressing Reference Material Needs for Whole Rock, Micro-Analysis,
and Stable Isotope Analysis
presented within the Analytical and Experimental Techniques sessions
Abstract submissions has begun with a deadline of February 21, 2010.
Reference Materials (RMs) are critical for achieving reliable
analytical results, being a key component for instrument calibration,
method development and quality control. While the availability and
quality of materials is marginally adequate for some whole rock
matrices (e.g., sediments and soils), for many trace element and micro-
beam applications (LA-ICP-MS, SIMS, EPMA) and stable isotope
applications, the shortage of suitable RMs is a major hindrance. This
session brings together RM producers and those analysts who seek to
overcome the lack of appropriate RMs.
We would like to establish a consensus on which matrix, analyte and
isotopes are needed the most by the community.
We sincerely hope you can join us for this meeting. If you have
specific questions please contact us.
