Technician position available in GIA Laboratory
GIA Laboratory in New York invites applications for a Research Laboratory Technician. The laboratory seeks an individual to operate an LA-ICP-MS instrument for gem material analysis. Responsibilities include performing instrument maintenance, assisting other instrument users within the organization, as well as operating additional analytical instrumentation (including FTIR, Raman, UV-Vis, and XRF equipment) to test gem materials. The laboratory technician will be expected to independently perform data collection and interpretation.
A B.S. or M.S. in materials science, geology, physics, chemistry, or a related field is preferred. Experience in LA-ICP-MS analysis is required.
