Along Michaels train of thought, your torch is silica, but your injector probably is also. Besides this, silica is a common environmental and water system contaminant. Many water systems only stop silica when the cartridge is new. There is at least one system I think from Millipore (? someone correct me if wrong) that has a special optional silica cartridge.

Thanks of all suggest for Vitamin D analysis. I have other question for who can help me for analysis of Si 29 , because I have a high background level(>4M counts) and I can't point this contamination. I run same water and standard on ICP4300 without problems at 0.05ppm level detection limit. I changed many parts of sample introduction without success.
