Thanks for all the suggestions so far. After going back and forth
between New wave and Thermo for several times, we find out the problem
lies in the laser ablation software, v1.14 has some communication
problem with the plasma software for our case. We upgraded the
software to 1.15 and now the communication is going well. Sample run
