1. Leave out the HF and use ceramic or quartz crucibles.
2. Use small Teflon beakers.
3. Use 60ml Savilex containers & µwave
4. It might be useful to know what you are trying to digest??? You know what your talking about, but we don't...

Subject: Alternative to Pt crucibles
I am wondering if any of you know of Pt alternatives for crucibles.
I have some digests that require H2SO4, HNO3, and HF to properly affect the digestion.
~ 30 mL size should be workable for me.
In a former life I have used Pt, especially useful for bringing to fumes of sulfuric (near BP of 337°C?) Which I also hope would limit S interferences ( esp Ti and Zn) But it is painfully expensive.
I am looking into sapphire, and wondering if any other materials might be ultra-clean, Perhaps an unusual metal not of interest analytically, that could withstand theses acids and temperatures?
