One comment about RO water--I've found that it contains about 90% of the
dissolved silica present in the feedwater. RO does not effectively removed
uncharged species, such as silicic acid.
>Two other grades of water are important. Softened water and RO water.
RO water is water that
>has been purified by passing it under pressure through a semipermiable
>membrane. The water passes through but the majority of dissolved solids do
>not. This process removes up to 99% of impurities.
