Hi all,
my name is Rossella Mattioli, I'm from Italy and I decide to join NCUC during the European Summer School of Internet Governance in Meissen last july.
My interest for the Internet and the impact mass media have in society started in the early 90s.
In 1999 I enrolled in a Laurea degree in Mass Communications as full-time student at the University of Bologna.
In 2001 I started working for Credem, one of the biggest financial groups in Italy, which is my current employer. At the moment I hold the position of Intranet manager and define policies for all the online media. My main goal is to help people to work better with information and new media tools.
Since when I started working for Credem I dropped my status at University of Bologna from full-time to part-time student. Indeed, having more time to dedicate to my job allowed me to develop a higher knowledge of themes such as networks governance and managing of network/online communities.
In 2006 I attended an executive course in Online Business Community Management at the Politecnico di Milano Business School.
At the same time I further consolidated my penchant for Internet governance, managing subjects as Internet security and stability, development of infrastructures working against cybercrime, and network neutrality.
In 2008 I transferred my enrolment from University of Bologna to University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (that is located in the city where I actually work and live) in order to better focus my energies working at the thesis on information security management and geopolitics of the Internet.
This summer I attended the Euro-ssig, it was an exceptional chance to got into subjects like DNS governance, policy development and stakeholder approach. I realized that it was time to start getting involved.
Please let me know how can I contribute to NCUC and if an italian translation of the Top 10 Myths About Civil Society Participation at ICANN would be useful.
I look forward to hearing from you,
kind regards
Rossella
