Hi Robin,

Wouldn't it make more sense for individual and organizational members to register and maintain their profile information on the website?  AFAICT, as of today, nearly 2/3 of our membership has registered so far. Why not have a volunteer contact the remaining members and help them get registered on the site?

I see a few advantages to distributing the updating of profile information to members (including setting the country in which they consider themselves based, organizational information (e.g., rss feed), etc.):

1. Members control their information and can update it as often as needed/required.
2. Membership roster can be exported, sorted as needed for administrative purposes, e.g., republished on Membership Roster page in the format you suggest.
3. Having information duplicated in multiple places inevitably introduces errors

Maybe I'm overlooking something, but this seems a pretty good path forward.

Cheers,

  NCUC Needs a Volunteer!

As our membership grows, our official membership roster on the website has become unwieldy and members are listed in an order that makes little sense.

So I'm writing to ask for a volunteer to help organize our official membership list a bit better.

Specifically, we should list our members alphabetically and also list in what country the member is based.  It would be great if the list could also link to the member's homepage or blog.

I haven't had time to do this task and expect it will take several hours to complete, so I'm hoping someone on the list will volunteer to undertake this re-organization of the list for the website.

Please let me know if you have some time to do this in the next few days and we can talk further!   Thank you!

Best,
Robin
