Hi Ron and everyone, Apparently there was some technical glitch that they couldn't fix; it shouldn't happen again at the next meeting (on September 8th at 1100 UTC). Thanks to everyone who tried to listen in; as you all know, there are some Councillors from other Stakeholder Groups who oppose audiocasting Council meetings live. I think it's both useful and important to show that there IS, in fact, continuing interest on the part of the community in having the live feed - in other words, this move is not just a short-term gesture toward some theoretical concept of transparency and openness, but actually reflects the interest of the community. (And despite the all-too-often detours into seemingly-endless discussions of arcane and unnecessarily complex procedural rules - complete with the occasionally farcical wrangling and rhetoric - somehow the live audio probably gives a much more accurate impression of how the Council functions (or not, as the case may be :), even when compared to the delayed-release MP3 recordings.)
