Hi all, I did apply to an At-Large seat back in 2000, I will maybe do it again. If this does not endanger Alex's chances, it will be a good opportunity to double the chances of having someone with our line of thought well represented in At-Large.

All the best,

NG

Dear Alex,

I hope you and anyone with a strong background and interest in user issues and ICANN will consider applying.  Support is not needed at this stage, but you might consider outreach to the RALO for your region <http://www.atlarge.icann.org/regions>

New press release on the At-Large Board Seat Call for Statements of Interest available in the usual six languages, see links from <http://atlarge-lists.icann.org/pipermail/alac/2010/001392.html> Note, the deadline is September 6.

Hope you and other NCUC/NCSG members will consider applying.

Adam

Dear Andrés,

I am well - and thanks for asking.

Certainly, but I did some thorough checking out to assess my chances
before arriving at the conclusion - partly because I am not too
familiar with ALAC 'internals'? All is not lost,  for since or should
one of our own is/gets nominated, then I'd be glad to take a back seat
on this one.

Many thanks,

 Dear Alex,

How are you? You do not need such a huge support from At Large (ALSs+RALOs+ALAC) at this stage of the process.

I suggest you to apply and continue seeking for support.

 Best wishes,

 Andrés Piazza

 Dear all,

Whereas I do not a problem with further dedicating own time and
resources to this duty, my inquiries point that I may not garner
critical broad-based ALAC in support. Proceeding further to
application would therefore be a waste of others' and my time.

I thank everyone that took time and variously responded.

 Sincerely,

 Alex

 Hi,

I would say go for it if you are interested and can afford the time - at least 20+ hours per week (when not at face to face meetings or retreats - then it is 40+)  to do it correctly.

The only minus, other than the time, is that you would have to drop out of NCSG activities if selected for the Board, for the time you were on the Board.  but if you can bring some of the things you believe in to the Board, that would be a plus.

Of course what matters more than the support of NCUC/NCSG, is the support of your local ALSes, Afralo and the ALAC/BCEC/RALOs - since it is the At-large Board seat that is being spoken of.

 Good luck.

I am tempted to apply in response to

What would be the Constituency/SG membership views?

 kindly,

 Alex
