Thanks Avri, On pg. 8 2.1.4.2. Election of the WG Leaders Unless a Chair has already been named by the Chartering Organization, normally a Chair will be selected at the first meeting of the WG. Until that time, the Chartering Organization’s liaison may fulfill the role of interim Chair. It seems to me that a Working Group Chair should _always_ be determined by agreement of the entire WG. Such a requirement wouldn't prevent the Chartering Organization (CO) from providing an Interim Chair until such an agreement was found. It would just prevent a CO from unduly influencing WG activities by virtue of controlling the Chair position from the start. --------------------------------------- Brenden Kuerbis Internet Governance Project http://internetgovernance.org On Wed, Jan 19, 2011 at 10:48 AM, Avri Doria <[log in to unmask]> wrote: > Begin forwarded message: > > > From: Glen de Saint Géry <[log in to unmask]> > > Date: 19 January 2011 10:26:09 EST > > To: liaison6c <[log in to unmask]> > > Subject: [liaison6c] Public Comment: GNSO Council Requests Your Input on > Proposed GNSO Working Group Guidel > > > > > > > > > > http://www.icann.org/en/announcements/announcement-18jan11-en.htm > > Public Comment: GNSO Council Requests Your Input on Proposed GNSO Working > Group Guidelines > > > > 18 January 2011 > > > > As part of the GNSO Improvements Process, which has as its objective to > improve the structure and operations of the Generic Names Supporting > Organization (GNSO), the Policy Process Steering Committee (PPSC) has now > submitted to the GNSO Council the proposed GNSO Working Group Guidelines > (see > http://gnso.icann.org/improvements/gnso-working-group-guidelines-final-10dec10-en.pdf[PDF, 626 KB]).
