FUD

If people don't want to be confused they should probably stay off the Internet altogether.

Nobody's forcing anybody.

However the FUD stories are newsworthy and thus serve a useful function in creating awareness.

As they say no publicity is bad publicity.

There was an ICANN story on NPR this morning. It made it sound like the extra domain names are a big mistake, and are going to add confusion to the Internet, and force people to do defensive spending to protect that IP in cyberspace.
