Hi All:

I must say that I agree with you Tracy. Moreover, there are issues affecting the Islands of the Caribbean which are much different from those affecting Latin America given the various language and cultural barriers and the use of ICT for sustainable development in both regions. We cannot afford for a focus on Latin America when there are also many Internet related issues at stake in the Caribbean.

In this case we do not want the typical situation of a "cultural/regional" divide which is typically reflected in Lacralo. Both regions should be treated equally. That is my two cents.

Best regards,

Kadian Davis

Hello,

Latin America is certainly not equal to Latin America & the Caribbean.

Latin America & the Caribbean = Latin America & the Caribbean.

These are the ICANN Regions, no?

ICANN Geographic Regions

AF = Africa
AP = Asia/Australia/Pacific
AQ = Antarctica
EUR = Europe
LAC = Latin America/Caribbean islands
NA = North America

I think it is important to make that point clear.

The regions in the NCUC constitution are the same as the ICANN geographic regions (literally). So Latin America is Latin America/Caribbean, and Asia Pacific is Asia/Australia/Pacific.
The NCUC regions will change if the ICANN ones do.

Hi.Brenden,

Just checking to see if the nominee.for NCUC EC Latin America really means the nominee for Latin America AND THE CARIBBEAN?

In light of the developing ICANN LAC Strategy, I am simply ensuring that the terminology and implications are in alignment going forward.

Thanks.

1. Why do you want to serve on the EC?
