Hi Bill,

I've filled in the survey.

A warning to anyone else who does; only at the very end does it tell you that you can have your comments attributed to you or be filed anonymously. I'd filled the whole thing in on the basis that it was anonymous, but would have liked to have had the choice *before* I made my comments.

Also, it repeatedly refers to ICANN as 'a company'. AGHGHGHGH!!!!!

FYI, Jim's been on the comms team for about three years. He joined as a consultant doing video for individual meetings a while back.

All the best, m

Hi

I had a good chat with Jim Trengrove, the fairly new Senior Director of Communications, in Toronto about stakeholder perceptions and positions in ICANN and he was eager to understand more what civil society's concerns are.  If you have ten minutes to share views on how you see ICANN from a public interest standpoint, it would be helpful.

Thanks

Bill

Dear GNSO Chairs,

I am the Research Director for Echo Research, a global research organization that has been conducting stakeholder research on behalf of ICANN since last October. As part of this research effort, we are seeking your assistance in gathering the opinions of the SO/AC members.

Below is an email request for participation in a web survey that we are asking you to distribute to your membership.  The text, which contains a link to the web survey, can be copied and pasted into an email to be sent to your members.

Please feel free to copy me on the email as I will be happy to respond to any queries your members may have regarding the research, its methodology or use of the results.  Of course, feel free to contact me yourself should you have any questions.

ICANN and Echo thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Best Regards,
Jennifer Clark

Dear GNSO Members,

As ICANN operates on a multi-stakeholder model, we are committed to ensuring that we maintain a dialogue with the ICANN community. Of particular importance are the opinions of the members of ICANN’s Support Organizations and Advisory Committees as they represent a unique perspective on ICANN.

To that end, we have partnered with Echo Research, an independent, global research organization, to survey our stakeholders to gather perceptions of ICANN including their knowledge of the organization and their opinions surrounding several aspects of its reputation and communications.

The research is in the form of an online survey that will take approximately 10 minutes of your time to complete. Be assured that the survey is hosted on Echo’s secure server and conducted under the Code of Conduct of the Council of American Survey Research Organizations (CASRO), which ensures your confidentiality

Please click on the link below to participate in this important research effort:

We know time is scarce these days, but we would appreciate if it you would consider participating and sharing your feedback. Thank you in advance for your input.
