Indeed a question about globalisation of IANA functions would be interesting. During the call that we had with Fadi  about the Montevideo statement, I remember Christine Rosette  expressing her concerns about this and asking Fadi if he could provide some clarification, to  which he answered that this is nothing new and has been on the agenda for discussion for quite some time. Hearing the views of the board about the particular aspect could be another interesting input.

And personally I think globalization of IANA is the more important long range goal.  IANA  is the real throttle point for any of this stuff.  ICANN is one of two main customers but not the only one.  And if there ever is an advance in the number of naming authorities, one of my fonder pipe dreams, IANA would be the place the things come together are are served.
