Subject: EWG Update Status Report & Request for Feedback by 28 February

Dear All,

Last year, ICANN announced the creation of an Expert Working Group (EWG) on gTLD Directory Services, as a first step in fulfilling the ICANN Board’s directive to help redefine the purpose and provision of gTLD registration data.   The work of the EWG is expected to serve as a foundation to help GNSO create a new global policy for gTLD directory services.

In advance of the ICANN-48 Meeting in Buenos Aires, the EWG has published a Status Update Report  that provides further insight into the EWG's analysis and highlights its current thoughts on key issues, after more extensive exploration of open areas and careful consideration of all Community comments received on its Initial Report.   The EWG appreciates the lively Community dialogue received  in Buenos Aires, and looks forward to receiving additional online feedback by 28 February 2014.

The EWG is interested in receiving any additional input on its Status Update Report from each SO/AC.  To do so, we kindly request that you submit your feedback to the EWG's Public Mailbox: [log in to unmask].  Input is publicly archived. To read input received to date, please refer to: http://www.icann.org/en/groups/other/gtld-directory-services/share-24jun13-en.htm.

If you are interested in learning more about the EWG’s work, please see the EWG’s announcement or visit its wiki at:https://community.icann.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=40175189   for meeting reports and other information regarding the EWG’s activities.

The EWG thanks you in advance for your participation.

Very best regards,

ICANN Staff
