Great news! Congratulations to all of you who worked hard to make this happen. On a related but not so cheerful note, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the process that led to Marco Civil started back in 2007 with an agreement between the then-minister of culture Gilberto Gill and the Italian vice-minister Vimercati, who committed to work together towards an internet bill of right [1]. The Italian promise was, however, soon forgotten. It would be interesting to assess why this happened (it goes well beyond the historical problems we have with keeping any government in place for a decent amount of time), but at a first sight it is safe to say that the engagement of a coordinated civil society sector made the difference. So kudos to the Brasilian civil society! We all have a lot of learn!
