role will build a team to develop and maintain a range of services and 
activities to support the needs of Domain Name Registrants." Akram 
Atallah, head of the Global Names Division, of ICANN decided there was a

Job Description

    ICANN has an exciting new opportunity for a Registrant Services
    Director. The right person for the role will build a team to develop
    and maintain a range of services and activities to support the needs
    of Domain Name Registrants. It involves participation in a number of
    cross-organizational projects in areas such as registrant rights,
    contract interpretations and compliance, operations, legal policy
    definitions and implementation with a strong focus on
    multi-stakeholder collaboration. This is a full time position
    reporting to President, Global Domains Division.

      * Build and lead a team of highly talented Global Services
        professionals based in various locations around the globe.
      * Work with the Multistakeholder community to define the services
        that meet the needs of Registrants around the globe.
      * Oversee the development of services from planning to execution,
        delivery and maintenance.
      * Become the Registrant Community advocate within ICANN and
        represent their needs to other teams across the organization.
      * Develop and implement educational outreach programs to assist
        registrants in understanding ICANN services available to them
      * Interface with technical, operational, legal and other
        cross-functional teams to continuously improve services.
      * Create and provide regular metrics to manage, measure, and
        report progress to key stakeholders, management, and staff.
      * Achieve functional consistency and accuracy through documented
        functional processes and procedures.
      * Be an exceptional team player and comfortable in working in a
        highly diverse, multi-cultural environment.

Required Skills

      * Ability to adapt to new technologies, organizational and
        procedural changes and to work independently and within working
        groups with minimal supervision on complex, non-routine issues.
      * Strong oral and written communication skills in English language
        with additional languages a plus.
      * Ability to create persuasive arguments with excellent
        negotiation skills
      * Extroverted and inclined to networking
      * A commitment to public service and the protection of others
      * Broad understanding of technical issues involving the Internet
        and DNS industry.
      * Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to multi-task.

Required Experience

      * Prior international experience is a plus.
      * BA or BS degree, MS or MBA preferred. Advanced degree in
        engineering or systems is highly desirable.
      * 8+ years working in product/service management in the domain
        name industry with an advanced degree or 12 years with a
        bachelor's degree.
      * Be comfortable working in a fast paced, multi-cultural team
        environment.

    global coordination of the Internet's system of unique identifiers.
    These include domain names as well as the addresses used in a
    variety of Internet protocols. Computers use these identifiers to
    reach each other over the Internet. Careful management of these
