Well Sam, you took the word, but for me, that was also why I sought clarification, because I really did not understand why AfriNIC should hold on to a design you declare non-winner and what exactly should be the motivation above the certification, which does not empower the person economically in any form. Appreciation of labour should start from home which in this case is AfriNIC.
Whoever gets to designing or participating in such a contest invariably is not looking for certificate but economic value given the time and intellectual engagement to strategically think out something.
I think very strongly AfriNIC should rethink about the prize, no matter who it will go to eventually. We as community should be able to encourage intellectualism. If it was that cheap, AfriNIC secretariat should have just put something together and tag it 10yr logo, I am sure no one will bleak.
