Many members will be aware that there is a GNSO review going on.  I am a member of the working group, and so am one of your representatives.  This is a mandatory review, and Westlake Associates have been hired to do an independent review.  Some of you may have filled out the survey they ran, some may even have been interviewed.  There was a public session at the Singapore meeting and the next meeting is tomorrow (see details immediately below;  I understand that listeners are welcome).  I have sent my own comments to the group in advance, and I attach them here if anyone is interested.  It is the view of many of us who read the report that was released in Singapore that the methodology used in this report is unsound, that the sample size is too small and somewhat skewed, and that the observations are not always factual.  I will be pushing to see another version, prior to it being sent for public comments. Please feel free to contact me if there are other issues that you wish me to bring up.
Kind regards,
Stephanie Perrin

Subject: [gnso-review-dt] Preparation for Meeting on March 3rd
Date: Wed, 25 Feb 2015 15:04:56 +0000

I hope everyone had safe travels back from Singapore!  I am looking forward to our next meeting on Tuesday, March 3rd.  You should have received an updated calendar invite.

In preparation for the meeting, I’d like to encourage you track your comments about the report in one of three categories to help us organize and guide our discussion:

1.       Factual Inaccuracies.  Anything you believe is factually inaccurate can be reported back to Westlake.

2.       Concerns about any quotes or information cited in the report which could be accurate, but  may create problems or raises concerns in the community.

3.       Concerns about conclusions reached that you would like to bring to Westlake’s attention.

We will plan to go through each section of the report asking for comments in these three categories.  You will still have time after this call to provide additional comments on the Wiki or to send to me or staff and we will compile all feedback in writing for the Westlake team.  Our goal in this call is to ensure that we capture all comments regarding the report so that we can aggregate  feedback in an organized and meaningful way.  Westlake will be on the call and available to answer questions or provide clarification.

If we think an additional call is needed, we can schedule further time by phone to discuss the report and feedback.  I appreciate your time and input into this process and look forward to our call on Tuesday.

In the meantime, if you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to reply to the list or post on the Wiki.

With kindest regards,

Jen
