Although a conference call enables some of us to participate, I would rather prefer an online forum in order to allow those having less connectivity and sometimes having time issues. In ISOC this forum has been used for the last couple of years and seems to work quite well.

Hi

As you know we’ve done candidate conference calls for the NCUC EC elections and I think it’d make even more sense for NCSG since successful candidates will be dealing with substantive policy issues rather than constituency management, on which views may not vary as much.  It might be helpful to agree some policy-oriented questions in advance for people to address, as the ones we use for the NCSG Candidacy Statements (below) don’t necessarily bring out where a person stands on the issues or facilitate questioning and dialogue on a call.

Cheers

Bill

Hi,

A question on the process.  Is it possible to schedule a conference call
between the 26th and the beginnign of voting so that any interested NCSG
members  get a chance to speak to the various candidates on their
histories, positions and goals before having to choose?  This would give
the voters something that goes beyond the statements they will all have
published by that time.  While some of the candidates may be well known
to some members, some may not, and no one is well known by all.

thanks

avri
