Subject: [Update] Technical issues NCSG Policy meeting Tuesday 21th July 15:00 UTC

Hi everyone,

we got finally a explanation about the technical issues we had in NCSG confcall

below the explanation in relation to adobe connect, from the communication with ICANN secretariat and followed-up by Maryam:

"The main issue was the faulty AC room, which crashed, and then never reset itself properly as your attempts to re-dial the audio link never actually appeared on the Verizon side. They have done technical tests to see if they experienced network glitches on their end which would have affected the line coming through, as does happen, but there were none recorded.

The result of this has been as you well know, the creation of a new NCSG AC room, which, if you make sure to update all your add ons and plug ins, should have no issue whatsoever, and this goes for participants too. It also has lead to an extended collaboration program with Verizon, involving future calls with new operators and strong liaising between both ICANN and Verizon. The GNSO secretariat has reviewed the call notes which are copied in to all our bookings and we are satisfied they correctly reflect our needs and Verizon’s dedication to high levels of service to us.

I have reinforced the notion that this is indeed a very specific working relationship and that efforts need to be made on both sides to maintain the usually excellent support we receive. Verizon have proven to be very open to any advice and feedback we can provide them with.

If you do wish to go over this in more detail, please reach out Maryam. I am very sorry that this glitch happened on your watch, I know well how stressful it can be! On the more positive side, it has helped us build on the incident and enforce measures we did not have prior to the NCSG call."

so we can expect more improvement and the webinar this Wednesday went well without issues. I hope that the technical issues won't hinder members participation and in particular the new ones. we will continue the work to get more community tools to support our work.

Best Regards,

Hi everyone,

first thanks for everyone who attended the call today and tried to participate, in particular the new members.

I want to apologize for the unusual technical issues we had today with ongoing noise, sounds quality and the adobe connected crashing for some time. this made the call quite painful for everyone and impeded a good interaction and participation. the technical support comes from ICANN and what happened today is definitely unusual. it is really unacceptable that happened with many new members trying to participate.

I am following-up to find out about the technical issues and get commitment to solve them. those confcalls are important for us to work and get our members updated about what going on on GNSO council.

I will give more updates when I get them,

sorry again.

Best,

Rafik Dammak
