+1 to James's nomination. It can be really challenging to chair as a newcomer irrespective of the platform. It can be more tasking to do that within any ICANN structure (perhaps with SSAC as an exception).

However I think James came in at a time when learning about ICANN structure can happen at a fast track level so I hope that would be sufficient enough for him to lead.

Wish him all the best if finally elected to the position. I assume this nomination has been crosschecked with the James.

I would like to nominate James Gannon for the position of NCSG Chair.  James has been a very active and extremely effective advocate for NCSG since he joined our community awhile ago.

He's actively participated in the IANA Stewardship working group, the Privacy and Proxy Accreditation Issues (PPSAI) Policy Development Process, and the CCWG Accountability -- and he's proven himself invaluable to NCSG in every one of these working groups.

James has put in countless hours, advocated consistently for privacy protections for Internet users, and has a deep technical knowledge of networks and security that will serve our members well.

James is Irish and if elected, would be the first European to serve in the NCSG Chair position, which would help with our diversity goals.  He's relatively "new blood", but has already put in the hard work of effectively advocating for noncommercial interests, and so James' election would show NCSG can provide leadership opportunities to more than just us "old timers".

So I hope you will please join me in supporting James Gannon for NCSG Chair in the upcoming annual election.

Thank you!
