I would respectfully like to disagree with this statement.  We need new 
blood, and we need to run elections, not a process of acclamation.  One 
of the unfortunate side effects of our mutual outpouring of support for 
those nominated may be to discourage other candidates from running.  I 
would like to encourage people to run for council. Even if unsuccessful 
this time, there is always a next time, and it gets you better known 
among our electorate.  Please do not hesitate to come forward and 
participate.
