SUMMARY

This week, cyberpolitics widely dominate internet governance news as United States reportedly preparing cyber war retaliation against Russia for alleged interference in the American presidential election. Besides, according to reports, Russia’s Defense Ministry has completed work on a nationwide intranet designed exclusively for classified data and one Russian ship is accused for cutting Syria's internet cable. Moreover, Ecuador’s government acknowledged on Tuesday that it cut off WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange’s internet access at its embassy in London. Intentional internet shutdown has been a subject widely commented becoming an issue on internet access above all in developing countries. As for events, we note the African Internet Governance Forum in Durban, the UNCTAD Interngovermental group of expert on consumer protection law and privacy, the Annual Freedom Online Conference in Costa Rica and ARIN 38 in Dallas.
