This week; first ICANN meeting after the transition (ICANN 57) was held in Hyderabad, India. U.S Subcommittee on Communications & Technology and the Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade have announced a joint hearing to examine recent cyberattacks against DYN company. The hearing is entitled, "Understanding the Role of Connected Devices in Recent Cyber Attacks. In addition, an unprecedented cyber attack has put Liberia's internet offline, as hackers targeted the nation's infrastructure using the same method that shut down DYN infrastructure. On internet protocols, future standards will not require compatibility with the original IPv4 addressing scheme, after the unallocated space of IPv4 addresses officially ran out. On internet regulation, people expect reversal of hard-won decision on issues like net neutrality following Trump election. On data protection, a new study has revealed that about 75,000 new data-protection officers (DPO) are required under a European Union regulation due to come into force from May 2018.
