Hi everyone,

Thank you @Olivie and @Sonia! And again, I greatly appreciate your kind words and support @Ayden.

Today is the last day to submit nominations. I would appreciate your support, but I also understand if you don't feel comfortable lending it. Either way, if I am chosen for the MAG, I want to work hard to make sure next year's IGF is even more fruitful and sustainable.

Best,
-Michael

Greetings all,

The deadline for MAG nominations to reach the IGF Secretariat is today.

I am not sure if we have reached agreement or not as the NCSG to endorse Michael, so I'd like to encourage those who have expressed support for him on the list - as well as those who have not yet commented! - to consider submitting a nomination to the IGF Secretariat directly. The form is short and should only take you a few minutes to complete: http://www.intgovforum.org/multilingual/content/mag-nominations-2017

I'll make one final pitch for why I think we need Michael on the MAG. He's active and he's visible. I know very few people who are working across as many different policy areas as he is. He is constantly commenting on issues, lending his support to causes where appropriate, completing surveys and evaluations, editing documents, and working across geographic regions and stakeholder groups. He's built and continues to build alliances based on mutual values, hard work, and meaningful engagement. He treats people with respect, understands the importance of working within the system rather than tearing it apart, and is not afraid to disagree with you or to accept he is wrong. And when he is not speaking, he is listening, and addresses issues without demonising the other side. He is big on collaboration, on finding sustainable solutions to problems, and on accountability. The MAG would be stronger with Michael a part of it.

Good luck to all candidates.

Best wishes,

Hi again everyone,

@Bill, @Rachel, @Mamadou, @Marilia, @Tanya, and @Raitme: Thank you all SO much, it really means a lot to me!

@Nadira: Thank you for the support and update.

@Renata: Thank you as well! I completely agree with your point about participation. I also share your hope in that. I guess we'll see what happens.

I am heading back to Serbia today, so I can finally get back to work -- I am so excited to do so!

Best,
-Michael

Ouch, Milton. Really, Avri that bad? :D

Thanks Ayden and Mike for stepping up. Also Arsene for being so supportive of a participative process. Without it, I agree we are way far from a greater participation of the community.

I have not yet supported any candidates. I'm a big believer in reducing regional inequalities but also in developing countries participation and MAG CS EU did bring in great questions. She'll be a tough act to follow. I only hope suggestions of increasing the number of MAG CS against the huge gov numbers are listened to and we get more hands on deck, we certainly need them.

Best,

Renata
