Hi Corinne,

if we want to submit a public comment, the closing date is the 12th January. and if it is a NCSG comment, the policy committee will have to approve it based on the consensus within NCSG membership .
we have basically 42 days but with winter holidays in the middle for many of us. so submitting a draft to policy committee by beginning of January would be good.

we get the google doc from NCUC list discussion as starter and we can build around since there are already several points which get consensus. it needs to be elaborated. the better is someone to take the lead and start rewriting the bullet points.

those expressed interests and volunteered may go there and add their comments?

lets target for having a first draft by 15th December in order to have enough time for comments in the mailing list.
hope that helps.

Best,

Rafik

Happy to volunteer too. Do we have a timeline / approach for getting started? Best,

Hi,

yes several members expressed interest to work on statement in NCUC list and had discussion there. Shane kindly summarized the discussion and that was copied to a google doc.
I think that would make sense to work on that existing document and people commenting there than starting from scratch.

Best,

Rafik

It’s so encouraging to read of all this interest in contributing to our consultation response on this topic. And thank you, Renata, for stepping forward to manage this project.

If I might suggest – do we need a dedicated team here? Or can we just have a shared Google doc, a scribe-cum-project manager, and regular exchanges on the list where we refine our positions? I’m not looking to join anything too formal, but on an issue as important as this one, I’d certainly like to read the material that is drafted and to input into it where I have something to contribute.

As Shane alluded to, some clarity before we begin as to whether the NCSG is going to be filing a response separately from the NCUC would be helpful.

Best wishes,

Hi Tapani
cc folks who volunteered

It's great to have this opportunity and very good to see many
interested parties on this.
I'm checking the earlier thread and there are also some very
interesting comments
This is the archives address, everyone: http://listserv.syr.edu

Deadline for this is 12jan
So I was thinking we should brainstorm more comments and I'll start
building a common document by 10dec (after IGF)

This work is better done in a team, it was also an impression I got from the mtg

And my belief is also organizational members can contribute greatly
with a view from their own policies developed in this matter

Thanks for any feedback

Renata
