If you require design assistance for your publication, you need to provide all the text, images, layout, and publication type/size requirements (i.e. one-pager vs. trifold, etc.). You will receive a maximum of 2 iterations of the publication. Please provide everything to Andrea Glandon [r20.rs6.net] by 23 AUGUST. Please keep in mind that all materials, new or updated, need to be evergreen.

TRANSLATION DEADLINE:

If your publication requires translation, please provide the final material(s) to Andrea Glandon by 13 SEPTEMBER. This ensures that there is enough time to translate the publication by the start of the meeting, with the possibility of potential changes. If your materials require design assistance (outlined above), please note that the final materials will have to be complete, including the edit/approval process, by this deadline to be translated

Community Regional Outreach Program (CROP) Trip Proposal Submission Deadline for ICANN78

Please see the CROP Procedures and Guidelines [r20.rs6.net] to determine eligibility. Trips must originate and conclude within the same region and must be taken by someone located in the region where the meeting is taking place

ICANN78 Community Childcare Grants Program Application Now Open

The program facilitates in-person participation of community members with children who are 12 years old or younger at ICANN public meetings and eligible ICANN events.

The ICANN79 Community Forum is taking place 2–7 March 2024 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The application deadline is 18 August 2023 at 23:59 UTC. If ICANN79 is held virtually, the Fellowship Program will also be held virtually.

🔥 ACTION ITEM: Policy Transition Program on gTLD Registration Data Launches Expression of Interest

The ICANN Policy Transition Program creates opportunities for newer ICANN community members to cultivate substantive knowledge on a specific policy topic, while fostering relationships and value in service through connections with experienced ICANN community members.

The Policy Transition Program will meet monthly via Zoom, from September 2023 to March 2024, and will explore gTLD Registration Data: The Temporary Specification and Beyond.

Information Sharing

NEW: A New Data Protection Mechanism for the Root Zone

By the end of this year, the Domain Name System (DNS) root zone will carry with it additional data that will provide a new mechanism for network operators to validate its contents.

NEW: ICANN African Engagement Forum Galvanizes Continent’s Internet Community

The second annual AEF attracted over 200 virtual and 170 in-person attendees from across Africa. Among the attendees were representatives from academic and research communities, civil society, and regulatory, governmental, and technical stakeholder groups.

NEW: ICANN to Hold Meeting in Vietnam on DNS Abuse

"A Day of Domain Name System (DNS) Abuse Discussions" will be held on 4 September 2023 in Da Nang, Vietnam. This hybrid event is part of a series of technical workshops that includes the ICANN DNS Symposium (5 September) and OARC 41 (6 – 7 September).

NEW: ICANN Seeks Input on ccNSO PDP4 Initial Report on (de-)selection of IDNccTLDs

The Country Code Names Supporting Organization (ccNSO) Policy Development Process (PDP) 4 Working Group seeks comments and input on its Initial Report on the (de-)selection and validation of Internationalized Domain Name country code top-level domains (IDNccTLDs), including the (de-)selection and management of variants of the IDNccTLD.

NEW: ICANN Promotes the First DNSSEC Day in Paraguay

This national-level event is intended to promote the deployment of DNSSEC in the Latin American and Caribbean region (LAC). It will be held on 21 September 2023 during the yearly meeting of the Association of Internet Service Providers of Paraguay (ASISPY) in Asunción, Paraguay.

Pilot Holistic Review Revised Draft Terms of Reference Webinar

The Public Comment proceeding for the Pilot Holistic Review Draft Terms of Reference revealed diverging views on the pilot as well as the Holistic Review. In response to an analysis of the public comments, the Organizational Effectiveness Committee of the Board reconvened the Terms of Reference (ToR) Development Team in March 2023 to address the questions and issues raised during the proceeding.

The Development Team concluded its work in July 2023 and would like to invite the community to attend an informational webinar on 21 August 2023 at 18:00 UTC to discuss the revisions to the ToR document.
