I am sharing with you the draft of the final report from the GGP working group on the applicant support, including the consensus designation made by the chair.
The working group finished the review of the public comments received including those from NCSG and made some changes compared to the initial report, in section 3:
- amendment in implementation guidance for guidance recommendation #1
- amendment in the guidance recommendation #5
- adding preamble text for guidance recommendations 7, 8, 9
As actions items for the working group, we have :
REPORT REVIEW: Working Group members are requested to review, with their respective groups, Section 3 of the Final Report and provide suggested minor edits, if any, in redline/review mode by Monday, 04 December at 18:00 UTC if possible, but not later than COB Thursday, 07 December. Note that minor edits are welcome for the other sections of the report, although those sections are mostly unchanged from the Initial Report.
CONSENSUS CALL: Working Group members are requested to review, with their respective groups, the Consensus Designations for each Guidance Recommendation listed in Annex C and to indicate on the Working Group list as soon as possible but not later than COB Thursday, 07 December if your group agrees with the Consensus Designations, or if there are objections. Per the GNSO Guidance Process Manual: “Each recommendation in the Final Report should be accompanied by the appropriate consensus level designation (see section 3.6 – Standard Methodology for Making Decisions in the GNSO Working Group Guidelines).
For the consensus designation, all the 9 recommendations have full support. As the NCSG representative, I think we can support those recommendations with changes made there, since NCSG also expressed support during the public consultations and shared our comments.
The last call for the WG will be next Monday 4th December to review the minor edits and discuss questions about the consensus designation.
Next step then will be to submit the Report to the GNSO Council with a draft motion on Monday, 11 December to be on time for the next GNSO council meeting.
